Playwork
We believe play is the essential foundation for learning and life. We are an advocate for the developmental value of risk in play and through our work we give children and young people the opportunity to manage risk through play in urban and rural environments.
Play is vital to children's development. It is the way children explore the world around them and develop and practice skills. It is essential for physical, emotional and spiritual growth, for intellectual and educational development, and for acquiring social and behavioural skills.

Each year, we facilitate Playwork Training, play sessions, programmes and events. Last year we engaged with over 3000 children and young people through:
- Large play events in parks and green spaces
- Away days to woodland areas for natural outdoor play
- Residential weekends in the country
- Play sessions for children with disabilities
- Street play

All children have the right to play as stated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This is recognised by the UK Government. Article 31 of the Convention says:
Every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.
